Finding out your footprint will give you an idea of how much of an impact you have on the environment compared to the average. It will also give you an idea on how much you need to reduce your footprint. Collect rainwater.
The amount of rain you get could cover 80% of our annual water usage. To make use of rainwater, fit your house with a system that can collect rainwater or use a garbage can under your gutter. You can use this water outside. Dont feed wild animals.
Feeding wild animals can change their diet and behaviour. It can also make them more reliant on recieving food instead of trying to find it themselves. Be happy just watching animals without interacting with them. Dont litter in the mountains
Mount Everest and Mont Blanc are both very highly visited areas. This has left them full of garbage left behind by climbers. Groups dedicated to cleaning up these areas have removed almost 10 tons of waste. Look for renewable electricity.
Renewable energy has a much smaller impact on the enviromant than other fuels. Try to find a way to invest into renewable energy. If it is not accessable in your area try to contribute towards it's use elsewhere. Recycle your Christmas Tree.
When Christmas is over, don't throw your tree out to be picked up and burned. This wastes a raw material that can benefit soil. Instead try to recycle your tree with the help of The National Christmas Tree Association.
